Neighbors Helping Neighbors
As Tropical Storm Fay continues to threaten Florida and neighboring states, the American Red Cross has over 500 workers providing food and shelter, the majority of them residents of Florida.

As we near the end of the Red Cross Dogs Days of Summer Campaign to promote pet safety, it is only fitting that we share the story of lovable Cordy May, a trained pet therapy dog and Red Cross volunteer at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Red Cross Getting Ahead of Fay as More Rain Falls Across State
Floridians should stay alert as Tropical Storm Fay continues her slow march up the Florida peninsula. The Red Cross is providing food and shelter for affected Florida residents and has more shelters ready in case the massive rain predictions materialize. Fay has left tens of thousands of Florida residents without power and the possibility of flooding and isolated tornadoes is high as the storm pushes northward.

Helping Peru Rebuild, One Year Later
It was a year ago August 15, when the earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Peru. Within minutes, hundreds died and nearly 700,000 people, like 64-year-old Flora Emilia Barrutia de Tasaco became homeless.

Humanitarian Efforts Ongoing in Georgia Region
With many people injured and many more fleeing their homes as a result of the conflict, medical and relief supplies are urgently needed. Initial support will go to help extend the relief work of the ICRC on the ground, while additional response options are evaluated.
