Red Cross Youth Raised $700 for Measles Initiative

 In May, June & July Arcadia Chapter youth sold Measles pins in the shape of a white ribbon, with red polka dots to raise money for measles vaccinations in Africa. It costs less than a dollar to vaccinate a child. You can help by joining the American Red Cross and other Measles Initiative Partners through the Measles Initiative Youth Campaign to use your creativity and energy for a variety of projects. Start by joining your American Red Cross or logging onto www.measlesinitiative.org to help implement the cause by exploring the ways in which the community can work together to give youth an opportunity to help the lives of their peers in Africa. Don't wait until it's too late. Become a more active member of your community today because together, we can save a life.

Tips on beating the heat:  Dress for theat: wear ligthtweight, light colored clothings , Eat small meals and drink lots of water: Eat smaller meals and more often, and drink water even when your not thirsty , Slow down and take breaks: Avoid streneous activities and take time out to find a cool place to rest.
