American Red Cross responds to Peruvian earthquake

The American Red Cross has released a press release in regards to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the central coast of Peru on Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Working with the International Federation of Red Cross and the Red Crescent Societies, much needed resources and supplies are being sent to help aid those that have been affected.

Please take a moment to read the press release, as it contains the most recent information regarding Red Cross response to the earthquake in Peru. The release also includes donation information as well as details on current American Red Cross response activities.

Heat Advisory in Effect for Los Angeles County

The Los Angeles County of Public Health has announced a Heat Advisory in effect for the Los Angeles County. Temperatures are expected to go above 100 degrees in parts of the desert, mountain, and valley areas of Los Angeles County.
