This storm is unpredictable and could cover a wide geography, but the American Red Cross is getting ready. Our work starts even before the storm makes landfall. As evacuation orders are given, Red Cross will be ready with shelters, food, and emotional support. The people of the Gulf Coast will need your support in the coming days. We need your help right now, as our relief efforts get underway. The best way to help is by donating to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. To contribute to the Disaster Relief Fund, call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or doante online at www.redcross.org.
Do you have an hour and half to spare during the week? Our Meals on Wheels Program needs you! We are looking for volunteer drivers to deliver food to local senior citizens. Volunteers deliver meals (a sack lunch and a hot meal) between 11am and 12:30pm, following one of five assigned routes in the City of Arcadia. Directions and warming ovens are provided. If you can spare an hour and a half once a week or or twice a month to help local seniors, please contact Kathleen at householder@arcadia-redcross.org or 626-447-2193.
On Thursday, July 31st, the Arcadia Chapter of the American Red Cross received a donation in the amount of $250 from CapitalSource Bank at their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Red Cross displayed emergency preparedness information all week, in celebration of their reorganization from Fremont Investment & Loan to CapitalSource Bank.
The Arcadia Chapter is grateful for the kind donation from the Bank and for the opportunity to share preparedness information with CapitalSource Bank staff and customers.
