As fires rage across Southern California , the American Red Cross has mobilized hundreds of volunteers to open shelters and evacuation sites for people who had to leave their homes.  The Arcadia Chapter sent members of their Disaster Action Team to work overnight staffing a shelter in Diamond Bar for evacuees.  Concerned family and friends can check the status of loved ones by accessing the Red Cross SAFE AND WELL website, a nationally accessible website that allows individuals affected by a disaster within the to register themselves as safe and well.  Visit www.redcross.org and click on “Register as Safe and Well” on the right side of the home page or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS.
