Delmer Dill, Meals on Wheels driver for the American Red Cross Arcadia Chapter, was named Arcadia's 2006 Senior Citizen of the Year at a luncheon on May 9, 2006 at the Community Center. Delmer has been a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program for over 16 years, delivering meals once a week to local senior citizens. Additionally, Delmer was presented with a special recognition in November 2005 - a pin to commemorate the donation of his 27th gallon of blood.

In an organization that could not provide its programs and services to the community without the support and dedication of volunteers, Delmer serves as a true example of the difference one person can make. Whether he is delivering meals to senior citizens or giving the gift of life, Delmer truly makes the community a better place. The American Red Cross Arcadia Chapter congratulates Delmer Dill on being named Senior Citizen of the Year!
