Ongoing Red Cross Response to Haitian Earthquake

American Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern met with Haitian officials, other Red Cross leaders, and current and former heads of state and visited a distribution center to experience firsthand that supplies are reaching victims.  According to a video on the American Red Cross website under the headline “Despite Bottlenecks, Red Cross Aid Getting to Haiti Survivors,” McGovern said, “It’s a dire situation…It’s going to take years for them to recover and we’re going to be there to help in the recovery process.” Because of the generosity of our donors, people in Haiti will receive more than immediate relief — they will receive resources, support and training from the Red Cross that will help them recover and rebuild for years to come.
