On Tuesday, March 27, 2007 the Arcadia Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to an apartment that was damaged when strong winds knocked over a carob tree into the apartment living room. No one was hurt, but the city declared it unsafe for residents to stay in the apartment overnight. The Arcadia Chapter paid for the resident to stay in hotel, and provided financial assistance for food and groceries. All disaster assistance from the Red Cross is FREE, thanks to the generous contributions of the public.
