December 13th ~ National Day of Giving for the American Red Cross

The Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund was depleted as a result of a very busy year for disasters, including a record number of tornadoes, severe flooding in the central United States, and an active hurricane season. From January through October 2008 across the United States the Red Cross responded to more than 70 large scale disasters.

A disaster is a disaster to those affected, whether they number one or one thousand.  Even if you are not in an area prone to hurricanes or earthquakes, disasters like house fires happen all around us everyday.  The Disaster Relief Fund is what we rely on to help people in need.  In a disaster, the Red Cross shelters, feeds, and counsels victims of disasters.  All disaster assistance is provided free, thanks to the generous contributions of the American public.  PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL.
